Blue & Red Abstract Shell With Cross, Surreal Art by Joseph Westrupp

Blue & red abstract shell with cross, surreal geometric art deconstruction by Joseph Westrupp.

About the Art

The title of this picture is Antelucan Red. It’s one of three variations, the others being Antelucan White, which is off-white on a darker blue background, and Antelucan Black, which is in black and white.

The deconstructed shape is a seashell. I have good memories of making this image. I completed it in the mornings before going out sightseeing during a holiday to Croatia.

It’s such a blessing having a laptop that enables work to be done on the go. And more broadly, digital art itself. I love the fact that setting up my workspace is as quick and easy as turning on a computer. No messy paints, solvents, and canvases like in the past.
