About the Art
The title of this picture is Disconnecting the Gray Dot. It’s the third in a series, a black and white version of the second, which is named Disconnecting the Dot. These first is called Disconnect the Dots, and is tonally very different, with a very dark background.
(Even when doing variations of an image I like to have different titles for each instead of numbering them.)
The bone surrounding the circle is from a photograph of an elephant skull, hacked and trimmed into what you see such that it bears little resemblance to a skull at all anymore. In fact as I wrote this I had to check the original photo because I’d forgotten what it was myself.
