The title of this picture is Golem.
It’s one of about ten artworks that came together very quickly after a few months away from doing much creating. It was a bit surprising because my process is normally much longer, being someone who struggles with perfectionism. In fairness, I’d done a fair bit of work already on the drafts, but even so the finalizing part was comparatively quickly achieved.
It’d be nice to be able to say that all creative decisions should be fast and decisive, and that agonizing over creative choices is a waste of time. However, I’ve also experienced complete turnarounds whereby sheer slog eventually paid off on an image that just wasn’t working.
As with everything no doubt there’s a healthy middle ground.
There is a black and white version called Golem 2.
