Title: Wainui Hills Squared. It could hardly be more literal—it describes the subject, the place, and the shape of the composition—yet the pun of squared elevates it beyond mere utility. I mean, not to pretend it’s some type of literary genius, but it tickles me. And you could do worse in life than being able to amuse yourself with puns.
This photo is from the same shoot as Wainui Hills, taken on Coast Road in Wainuiomata, New Zealand.
There’s also a black and white version, which is called Wainui Hills Squared in Black and White. In that link I talk a bit more about the back story.
