What is it about minimalistic imagery that’s so appealing? Could it be our minds are so cluttered with the demands and complexities of modern life that simple imagery is a visual balm? A way to briefly take a break from the flood of electronic notifications and other craziness?
Nah, it just looks cool. (And device settings are a much better option for controlling notifications than looking at art.) What I like about minimal art is how the beauty of elemental shapes is emphasized.
Anyway, the title of this picture is Rook and there’s also a black and white version: Rook Black.
